Knockholt, Rushmore Hill

We're preparing to upgrade our gas network along Rushmore Hill.

This essential work to replace our old metal mains with new plastic pipe will ensure local properties continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas.

Our engineers will start work on Monday 14 April and we're expecting to complete our project by Sunday 31 August.

We'll be starting at Rushmore Hill's junctions with Main Road and Halstead Lane, and progressing towards Pratts Bottom, finishing just before the A21 junction.

To ensure everyone's safety, we need to close Rushmore Hill around our site. The closure area will progress as we move along the road. Signed diversions will be in place for affected motorists.

What does this mean for me?

  • Vehicle access for residents will change during our work. Engineers and local signage will keep road users and residents informed.
  • Bus services will be impacted during project. Please check with your provider for updates to services, routes, stops or timetables.
  • We'll be liaising with the local authority to ensure refuse collections can continue to be made with as little disruption as possible.

We've agreed with Pratts Bottom Primary School that no work will take place near this location during the SAT exam period. We've also agreed we will not work past Coolings Garden Centre until Tuesday 1 July.

We appreciate roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80 years, which means residents and businesses will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
