We're delighted to announce that SGN has been shortlisted in four categories at the 2025 Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers (IGEM) Gas Industry Awards.
This week, it was confirmed that we’re finalists in the following categories:
Customer Service Award: Safe & Warm team
We’ve introduced our Safe & Warm community team to identify and help those facing high levels of vulnerability and fuel poverty, while bringing our Careline service directly to them.
Safety: Predictive Safety Interventions (PSI)
Developed in partnership with FYLD, PSI has introduced predictive safety measures, integrating real-time hazard detection and risk analysis to safeguard our workforce and the public.
Product of the Year: Stent Bag, with Sarco Stopper
Inspired by medical technology, the Stent Bag is a groundbreaking advancement in gas network maintenance, designed to keep gas flowing during repair work
Business Innovation: Core and Vac Mk3
A pioneering advancement in excavation technology that is revolutionising gas network maintenance by reducing environmental impact, increasing safety and efficiency, and saving costs for stakeholders
We've also been shortlisted alongside the other Gas Distribution Networks for the Investment in People Award where we're working together to lead the ground-breaking Equity, Diversity and Inclusion ‘Embrace Community’ initiative.
The prestigious awards, organised by IGEM with the Energy & Utilities Alliance (EUA), have been honouring excellence in the gas sector for over 25 years.
They recognise the industry’s highly innovative work and exceptional talent.
This year, they will take place on Thursday 8 May at the InterContinental London Park Lane. SGN will sponsor the event.
Darren Elsom, Chief Operating Officer at SGN, said: “Congratulations to all our finalists, whose efforts are undertaken with a dedicated commitment to safety and our customers.
“We’re proud to be part of an event that recognises and celebrates the achievements of so many individuals and organisations within the gas industry.”
